Structure Rework and UI Changes

STRUCTURE CHANGES

Quick little update: the old structure system has been reworked. I'm not sure if its showcased in the devlog from the last post but essentially, structures used to be HUGE tall pillars of building. Unfortunately I don't have a build of the old structures, so I can't get a screen shot to show you guys. Pretty much though, I remade the structures so that instead of being a floor to ceiling skyscraper of a building, they are now small huts that appear on the peripheral worlds.

The brown poles sticking out the bottom are supports, because due to the way these spawn, these poles will occasionally be seen under the actual structures. I'm also thinking of adding stairs to the side, because otherwise you can get stuck from underneath it. It has happened to me before, but I couldn't recreate it for the sake of a screen shot.

Basically, imagine this terrain generation, but instead of the blocks going down by two from the upper most block, it goes down by three or four. This would make it impossible to climb. Because of this, I am contemplating the creation of stairs.

UI CHANGES

While not implemented yet, I will be doing a whole bunch of UI changes so the game's aesthetic looks a lot more cohesive. Part one of that has already commenced with the inventory and crafting changes, and more will be coming for the menu and pause screen. I plan on working on it today, but who knows what will happen
